Facebook, the social networking giant had to face another major complaint of Fake 'Likes'. The company has been sued for falsifying member endorsements through their 'Likes' for advertisement purpose.
Anthony Ditirro, a Facebook user and a resident of Colorado filed a complaint against Facebook allegedly misrepresenting him in a sponsored advertisement for USA Today in November of 2013, CNET reports.
Ditirro claimed that one of his social networking friends saw the notification of Anthony Ditirro liking the page of USA Today, despite he never visited the USA Today's site or liked its page on Facebook.
The complaint of Anthony accuses Facebook of breaking a number of California civil and business codes, and argues that the class members should receive statutory and punitive damages of at least $750 per person for the unauthorized use of their likeness.
